The project was inspired by the bow of the ship. The building is located partly on alluvial territory, which allowed to create
a feeling of a ship that has come to the shore. The entrance side creates strong emotions due to its monumentalism as well
as the contrast of closed heavy entrance and aerial bright departue piont that faces the river.
The construction consists of two contrasting parts that ram into each other. One part is light and transparent, it is a waiting
area for visitors of river station. The second part is more massive and is fully covered with facing stone, that imitates a pattern
of a wooden ship. It is covered with small carved windows on the facades. Inside this part all facilities for the river station
(including cafes, staff rooms, service of the station, luggage compartment) are located. Besides a big hell waiting room
guests can also use the multipurpose roofing to enjoy the view to the Oreshek fort on the other side of the river.
